Well, it's been some time since I have posted and I don't want y'all to assume that it's because I am off the wagon! It's not the case, in fact I am doing fab if I do say so myself. The truth of the matter is that I am crazy busy at work and just haven't had the time to keep up with the blogging.
Soo, a little update on the weight loss front - DH and I started a Weight Loss Challenge between the two of us. We had 10 weeks to go before we head back to Calgary for his brothers wedding and we wanted to really see how successful we could be in that time. We have only had one week down but I lost 6 pounds! DH did well too (although not as well as me) and lost 1.6. I am pretty excited as now I am back in the 220s and soon will be at my lowest weight on WW which was around 227. I am happy to be there and even happier to think of where I can be in the next 9 weeks if I can really focus for the whole time! My original goal was 20 pounds in 10 weeks but I may have to increase that to 25 pounds if I have another few good weeks.
Other than that all is well. Work is insane but I am still making time to exercise. I am doing the Couch to 5 K and loving it. I swear that's what is the driving factor behind my weight loss over the past weeks. It kicks my butt and is terribly exhausting, but it's motivating as well and I like the idea of one day being able to actually run longer than 90 seconds!
Well, here's to a lot of pounds falling off over the next 9 weeks!
A blog dedicated to the trials and tribulations of losing weight, for good.

I am Woman...
Well, the last thing I did was let my GAIN from this week get to me. In my not so typical fashion, I shook it off and worked my butt off ever since! I have been sticking to the plan and doing quite well if I do say so myself.
I did my best shred yet which I was happy about as I was wondering if it would ever be manageable. "If you think you're going to die, follow Anita". I think that's my mantra these days! I also did make it to the gym for my run yesterday and it felt great. I felt better than I have in a long while so I was happy. I must say I am looking forward to my shred being over so I can start doing some new things in the gym. I don't want to use all my ammo at once, you see.
Other than that I am crazy at work and will only get crazier. I got a promotion yesterday which I am SUPER excited about as we need the extra cash right now so that will be good. I am looking forward to hopefully not being so strapped in terms of paying off debt. I wish that I could snap my fingers and make all our debt go away! Life would be so much easier and we could save so much more that way! :)Anyway, I know we are fine and we aren't really struggling or anything, but a money tree would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot - Paris at the end of June! :)

Something is not adding up....
Alright, I know I have always been bad at math but this is just rediculous. I worked my ass of this week. I did the 30 day shred every day except one. I went to the gym 3 times and did couch to 5 K each time which had me sweating like mad. I ate perfectly and didn't go over my points one day. So, all this considered you would think a sizeable loss would await me this morning.
I gained 3.2 pounds. GAINED. 3.2 POUNDS!! I am furious! I want to give up, I want to run to McDonalds and eat the fries, then skip over to DQ and have a blizzard, then make a final stop at Chick Fil A for a few spicy chicken sandwiches. (Emotional eater? No, not me!)
In all seriousness though, I was just gutted this morning when I stepped on the scale. I worked sooooo hard this past week and to see that number go up instead of down was devastating to me.
I will not drown my sorrows in any sort of fried or frozen food. I will stay on this darn horse that tries it's dardnest to buck me off. Back to the gym today, let's see if we can't make this week even better than last.

Kicking butt and taking names
Hello my faithful followers, ha ha! (I am still not convinced any one of you 7 reads this!)
This has been a great week so far. I have been totally on plan and also working out more than ever. I started the 30 day shred on Monday and also started Couch to 5K today! I am so so so so sore I look pretty funny when I walk but it's all for a good cause, no? I thought I might just die on that treadmill today, it's not easy to get all 230 pounds of me to run no matter how long for! I must admit that I am very proud of myself for finishing day 1, even when I was literally exhausted from the shred.
I am excited to start seeing some real change in my body. I want to lose weight but also tone up and be stronger and fitter. I am hoping that my new routine will assist in this, even without spending loads of money on a gym membership (I use the free one at work).
Other than that, not much going on in terms of weight loss. I have started reading 'Diet Girl' and I love it! I am just on the first bit but it seems so good so far. I am excited to hear about her transformation!
Anyway, keep on keeping on. :)

10 lbs ish?!?!
What a difference going across the world makes!! Yes, it's true, this week I lost about 10 pounds! I don't know how it happened but it did and I am sooooo happy!
I left home weighing 241.8 and came home weighing 230 on Friday! By the time I got my water back into me after being dehydrated I was up to 232 this morning and super happy about it.
I am feeling motivated for the week ahead. Only 5 pounds to my pre-pregnancy weight! I was in much better shape back then, working out quite often and strength training as well. I am so excited to get back there and then get going down!

What a Week
Wow, what a week that was. It was terrible and amazing all at the same time. I was so exhausted and yet so happy to have met such wonderful people.
Anyway, I could go on and on but for numerous reasons, I won't. I will stick to the theme of the blog and talk about my week in terms of weight loss. It wasn't good and it wasn't terrible. It started off fine and I had every intention of going to the gym quite often. Alas, it didn't happen ONCE as we were in class by 8am and finished working on projects each night at 11pm. Needless to say I was exhausted and had no time at all to hit the gym. I tried to keep my eating in check and managed fairly well. I had lots of fruits, skipped desert everyday except one, and avoided anything that looked fried.
I am interested to see what the scale does on Monday. I do know that I am still motivated and looking forward to getting back to the gym this week! I am hoping to see some good movement on the scale in the next few weeks as the countdown to August is officially on!
Here's to a good run of losses and May being my best month yet!

And We're Back!
Phew! I am finally back on track and feeling good. Day 2 of being 100% OP and all is well.
Yesterday went wonderfully! I made it to the gym at lunch, had a healthy steak salad afterwards and remained on point for the rest of the afternoon. I picked James up from daycare after work and met hubby at the restaurant across the street to grab some dinner before heading off to our soft ball game. I opted for the veggie burger, no fries (!!) and a water. It was not bad but I have had better for sure. I avoided ALL snacking after dinner and managed to get in bed without a slip up. Yes.
Today has been similar although many more obsticles have been in my way. I had my yogurt and fibre one for breakfast but not before recieving an email telling me that there were 'sweets' for breakfast in the copy room. I avoided that room like the plague and managed to get my first temptation down! I headed off to the gym for a lunch workout and boy did I sweat! I was on an incline right around 5.0 for most of the time and holy cow did that ever kick my sorry butt!! It felt great to get to the gym especially after going yesterday as well so I am pleased. I had to then high tail it to a lunch meeting which was the second temptation of the day! I managed to avoid the deep fried spring rolls, the cookies, the chips, the pasta salad, and the pop! I had one sandwich and the rest of my plate was filled with fruit as there was NO salad?!?!
I am thinking that day 2 is going great, but I am a little worried as I didn't take anything out for dinner! ACK! I may end up stopping at Whole Foods for some sushi and kale salad and then I can pick James up something healthy and delicious as well.
Here's to a good week on track and back down to my last weigh in weight of 238.8 in no time!! (I checked this morning and I STILL have 4 pounds to go, le sigh).

Going up!
That is exactly what my weight is doing. Eeek! I had an amazing week with my sister and we celebrated and ate semi poorly. I wasn't totally off the rails but I certainly wasn't tracking my intake either. It was a nice hiatus, but again, I don't feel fantastic about myself and am a much happier person when I focus on my intake. So, that is exactly what I will be doing. As of today! Well, yesterday really although I didn't do as well as I wanted to for my first day back on the wagon.
I have started using my WW for iPhone app and I love it! It is super handy and I love being able to count points no matter where I am. Sometimes mixing it up is just another form of motivation! I also ordered a book from Amazon called 'The Amazing Adventures of Diet Girl'. I heard about it from a fellow WW goer and friend and I am looking forward to reading it for that extra little push!
So, back on the wagon (again) and feeling good. I am up about 4 pounds from where I was before I took my hiatus so I have a little bit of damage to undo, but nothing that can't be done relatively quickly. I am off to the Middle East on Friday which I am crazy nervous about, I hate the thought of leaving James for a whole week. I will be in a very intensive training course so no time for sightseeing or anything similar which is too bad. They do have a gym at the training centre accomidations so I am planning on going a few times during the week if not every day if possible!
We have our very first softball game tonight so I am really looking forward to it! Hitting the gym at lunch today too in hopes that will give me some more energy for this evening's game.
It's good to be back. :)

Updates and Downdates
Well, has my original steam let off and I am just not as excited about blogging my weight loss journey anymore OR has my weight loss journey stalled and I am not excited about telling everyone how much I suck?
Mostly the latter, however, I am not completely off the rails and am still tracking but I just feel like my choices haven't been the best. I have been snacking after dinner as well which is not good for me, it's something so easy not to do but I just haven't been caring enough not to. I have been managing to get to the gym here and there but nothing consistant enough to make me happy.
To top my come se come sa attitude off, I am now sick with some sort of cold which is so annoying. I seriously don't know what it is about this year but I have never had so many colds in my life! James started daycare and I have the immunity of an aids patient which put together make me one sick lady. Anyway, it's nothing serious which I am thankful for but I would love to stop having these colds all the time.
My sister is coming in two days for my 30th birthday and I can't wait. I am so looking forward to seeing her and having some quality sister time. I have a date night planned to a wonderful French restaurant with my hubby which will also be great.
So, all this verbal spewing has led me to one thought. This week is not going to be good but I am going to try my darndest to keep it within reason. No need to go out and load up on chilli cheese fries and chicken fried steak just because I am expecting a week of challenges, right? Nope, not for this girl!
So, I will check back in a few days and let y'all know how it's going. Here's hoping. :)

AWOL
Yes, I admit it, I have been totally AWOL since my mom was here a few weeks ago. Along with not blogging or posting in my regular WW thread, I have been totally off the rails and off the plan. I quit, again. I don't know why I keep doing this, I really don't. It's so frusterating and I just want to be able to stick with this for more than a few months at a time. So, here I am, crawling back to my readers and my friends on the thread. My head is hung in shame but I am so glad to be back.
Along with throwing caution to the wind and eating whatever I wanted (which, by the way, included McDonalds, pizza, deep fried goodness in Lousiana, and pretty much a whole lot of junk) came the feelings of self loathing and overall general malaise. I felt fat, ugly, and to be honest I was really cranky the whole time. I am wondering today if my crankiness could have been from not feeling good about what I was doing with my life and taking it out on those around me. Huh, interesting how this verbal barrage can lead us to some revelations about why we do the things we do.
Anyway, I am recommiting today. NOW. No excuses. I stepped on the scale this morning and it wasn't pretty. I am up about 7 pounds from where I was at my last weigh in a few weeks ago. How is it SO easy to put on and SO hard to take off?? So, today I will be tracking 100% as well as having a lunch time workout. I am going over all my journal entries for my 100 Days of Weight Loss and starting right where I left off.
So, wish me luck with yet another leg of this life long journey.

Not A Diet In Sight
That about sums up my week. Oy. It started off great and I was still on track with my few planned indulgences on the horizon. Sometime during the week it went from that to a total shit show. Let's eat everything in sight and not worry about counting it, tasting it, or any of the repercussions from shoving it in our mouth. Double oy.
So, needless to say, I gained this morning. 4.2 pounds up. Wow. I am super disappointed in myself, but I did it and I sort of feel like I need to just get over it and get moving. I am back on track today and will be this entire week in hopes of shedding that entire 4.2 plus maybe 1 more. No flex points for me, just hard work and counting every.single.bite.
I am feeling gross today, just super heavy and not healthy so I brought my gym clothes and am hitting the treadmill at lunch. It's too hot to go outside without melting so indoors it is!
Here's hoping my week is filled with healthy foods and self motivation. I have also brought my 100 Days of Weight Loss book to work to start doing in the morning here, instead of before bed at home. Hopefully this will give me a little extra motivation and I can stay strong in my fight to change.
Happy Monday y'all.

Pre Preggo Pants Party!
Yep, that's what I am having today! WOOHOO!! I tried on a pair of pre-pregnancy pants today just for kicks, and low and behold - they fit! I will admit that they are a little tight around my middle, but not terribly uncomfortable.
I am so pleased that my wardrobe options are opening up with my 'down sizing', lol! I still have about 10 pounds to go to my lowest weight ever on WW, but I know I can get there. The only thing I worry about was when I was at that weight I was going to the gym at least 3 times per week, and now I go 0 times per week. I keep talking about ramping up the exercise, but I think it's time to stop talking about it and start doing it.
I failed yesterday at my plan for a lunch time walk. No ones fault but my own head and me just plain old making excuses. Today I am commiting to going out tonight when we finish dinner. NO EXCUSES! The dog will be very happy and I will be happy to be making my way towards being a skinny bitch! :)
My NSV for the day is that I changed the restaurant my Mom and Hubby and I are going to. We were originally going to a wonderfully Texan place with the best Chilli Cheese Fries ever known to man. I opted for us to go to another nice place but with much healtier fare and a pretty dang awesome crab cake salad. I just don't trust myself to not get there and crumble under the sight of those amazing french fries!
The motivation is in the pants. :)

Abuela!
Yes, Abuela is here and I am one happy lady. Since moving to Texas one of the very hardest things for me to deal with was not having my Mommy around. We are really close and would hang out together often, going to movies, grocery shopping, dinners, etc. Now I get to have her all to myself for one whole week! I must admit that James is really trying to monopolize her time, but I am ok with that. He is so happy his Nana is here and I get a tear in my eye watching them interact. They are so in love with one another, a nana and baby love is a special one!
Anyways, weigh in today was so so. I was down .6 which was good as I still lost some weight, but could have been better. Also, it could have been worse as I had a rough day on Friday and carried on a little bit of a mini sabotage throughout the weekend. I am off that train now and back on that crazy horse that likes to keep kicking me off. It's all the horse's fault, right?
I have big plans for this week, lots of activities with my Mom and James, none of which include eating out, right?! HA! Tomorrow is lunch at a typical Texas style restaurant - you know, Chilli Cheese Fries, Chicken Fried Steak, etc. Eeeek! I do know for sure that they have salad's, so I might just have to have one instead. We are also going to my very favourite TexMex restaurant on Wednesday which will leave me ordering Beef Fajita's as I will save every weekly point I have an exercise my butt off in order to have those babies!
Here's to a great week with a little bit of indulging involved. Controlled and planned for indulging. :)

My Mom is Coming!
Hello my devoted readers! What a week it's been here in Sugar Land, Texas. Nothing too exciting but work has been super busy and I feel like I haven't had much time to just relax and enjoy the week!
In terms of WW I have been doing pretty good and on track, although for some reason I have a sinking feeling this week. I am hoping to get rid of that this weekend by heading to the gym on Saturday and Sunday for at least one hour. We will see how that goes as my hubby is working both days which doesn't allow much time for me to do my own thing.
But, some very exciting news is that my Mom is coming for a visit tomorrow!! I am so excited, I miss her terribly and can't wait to have some quality time with her and for her to spend some quality time with James too. We have a few good things planned, but I am just worrying about staying on top of my eating and not letting our meals out throw me off track. I am sure we will eat out a few times so I need to ensure to make them count and not let them get the best of me. I find as long as I can plan ahead I am usually ok and stick to the choices I planned for.
I have had quite a few challenges in the last few days that I have managed to overcome and I am really hoping to be able to get through this next week with the same positive mentality and outcome. My first challenge is in about 20 minutes when I am heading for Thai food with a few co-workers. Oy. Tonight hubs wants to order pizza. Double Oy.
Anyway, I will get through them both. For lunch I will get a shrimp & veggie stirfry with the sauce on the side and for dinner I can always have one slice of pizza and make myself a big salad. I think that may be my only option.
Here's to a wonderful weekend spent with my Mommy. :)

Who Says Monday's Suck?
Not me! I love Mondays, especially when the scale brings good news my way. Today, it did just that. I am down 2.8 pounds for a total loss of over 22 pounds! WOOHOO!!
I am quite pleased although I know I must attribute some of that to the stomach flu. I am on the mend and eating again, which is good, right? I still don't have 100% of my appitite back, but maybe this is my new and improved appitite? Just not ravished all the time? I really am not complaining as food is simply fuel to me lately and that's what I am striving for really, isn't it? Wow, the questions are overwhelming today!
A great weekend of laughing and playing was had by my darling son and I. We went for a haircut on Saturday, which is always a traumatic experiance for him. I decided to be a really nice Mommy and followed it by a lunch of pizza and asparagus on the Whole Foods patio. James sure loves his pizza and since theirs is loaded with veggies I was happy to oblige. We headed over to our friends' for a BBQ afterwards and had a great time enjoying the sun and the company. Sunday was more relaxing as James had a three hour nap in the morning while I caught up on some housework. Once my little Sleeping Beauty awoke we headed to the mall to cash in on the sale at Bath & Body Works and bought a new sun hat and baby sunglasses for James, he looks so darling! After sharing a big bad bread-y pretzel we headed over to a new park and burned off some 'cooped up in my stroller' energy. It was a wonderful spring weekend, here's to many more before it gets too hot to enjoy these days!
My lovely husband made an awesome dinner last night of Turkey Stuffed Peppers. I highly reccomend these although can't provide you with a recipe as hubs is quite adament on not using any sort of recipe when he cooks. Yeah, snobby chefs! Anyway, he did a wonderful job and they are so filling and wonderfully healthy! Tonight I am going to try making kale chips, I am really looking forward to this as kale and I are in love these days.
That's all for this lovely Monday, here's to a healthy, on track week! :)

Down but not out
What a bad blogger I have been! Almost a full work week and not one post, yikes! Let me explain myself here: I am sick. Yep, I think it's either the stomach flu or food poisening, but whatever it is, it's not pretty. I am thanking the high heavens that I am not throwing up, cause Mama doesn't handle that well. It's all coming out down below. TMI? Sorry.
So, that being said, my diet has gone to shit this week. I haven't been eating much and all and what I have been eating is 100% carbs. Very little water and no nutritional foods are making it in to this tummy. Le sigh. I have NO idea what the scale will do on Monday, you would think I would lose at least a few pounds (isn't that the upside of the stomach flu?) but my pants are tight, I am bloated, and can hardly move I feel like my stomach is sticking out so much! Oy.
Anyway, I am still tracking what I do eat, not that it matters at all, I haven't reached a daily target since Monday. I am hoping that today is the tail end of it (No pun intended, ha!) and this weekend will find me basking in the glorius 27 degrees that is forcasted for both Saturday and Sunday!
Here's to getting my health back, and my appitite (maybe??)!

Weekend End
Well, I can hardly believe it's Sunday night already. The weekends fly by around here, it's too bad really. I so enjoy spending time with my boys relaxing, playing, and just being a family! We had a good weekend around these parts, we spent Saturday doing a bunch of outside chores - washing the cars (by hand, may I add?!), weeding the 'garden' (it's really just shrubbery), and cleaning out and sweeping the garage. Oh the dog days of spring! I got a good workout washing both cars which I didn't expect! Today I woke up so sore all through my back muscles. It felt good to use some new muscles! Today was spent getting groceries for the week and taking James and Jack the Puggle to the park. We had a good play and Mama is one tired lady tonight.
I am feeling worried for tomorrow's weigh in. I don't know why but I have this sinking feeling like I won't lose. I sincerely hope I am wrong as I was on track this week. I somehow feel like I could have done better, but when I think about the week I really think I did well. I tracked almost everyday and really had no indulgences to speak of. Anyway, I am hoping everything works out and I see a few pounds gone tomorrow.
Not much else going on here, I am looking forward to a good week and am going to resume my 3x per week walks at lunch. Hopefully it won't be too hot this week and I will be able to get out for some good trail walks! I love the break at work too, so I will try my best to stick with the goal.
Hope everyone has a great week, I am going to catch up on the blogs of my followers now. My 7 precious followers! :)

Back to Life
Well, I officially survived my course and being out of my normal routine! I am so pleased and am confident that I am really going to do this. :)
So, today I don't have too much to report. I am going shopping at lunch to get some car washing supplies in hopes that a little bit of retail therapy will cheer me right up. It's not clothes or anything fun, but I am trying not to buy any clothes as I have quite a few in my closet that I am still waiting to get back in to! No need to buy new ones when hopefully I won't be at this weight for much longer....
Not too much planned for this weekend. I am going to wash my car tomorrow while my darling husband does our lawn and my darling son hopefully naps! On Sunday I hope to get out to the park and have a wee picnic play date with me and my little man.
Happy Friday everyone! Will check in more this weekend. :)

Comfort Zones
Well, day one of my course was pretty good. I think I made some good decisions and some not so good ones as well. I would say I am 80% happy with myself. I could have done better at lunch and snack but I also could have done worse! For lunch I had 1/2 my plate with salad (cottage cheese for dressing), a bunch of green beans and carrots, with 1/4 of a chicken breast and 1/4 of a piece of tilapia. The problem is how the chicken and fish were prepared. The chicken was covered in potato chips (!!) and the fish was in butter. I also had some caprese salad which isn't so great as it has tomatos, oil, and bocconcini cheese. Snack time consisted of 4 crackers and 4 small squares of cheese. Not the best choice either but I hopefully kept the portions small enough. I wish that I could say I was 100% confident that today will help me lose weight this week but I don't know if that's the case.
My plan for tomorrow is to bring my breakfast again and to have more salad and less protein for lunch. I kept my carb intake quite low today other than the crackers so I am pleased about that.
I just hate being out of my little routine and my comfort zone. I know that this is real life and I need to do the very best I can do with whatever situation I am in. I think I could have done better today and I am hoping that tomorrow I can say I am 100% confident in my decisions. Oy. I wonder if I am being too hard on myself?
Anyway, the course itself is kind of boring which sucks but c'est la vie!
Ok, here's to an awesome day tomorrow! :)

Real Life Test
Well, good news for this week's weigh in - I am down 3.8 pounds!! WOOHOO! I am so pleased and happy that my hard work is paying off.
Now, this week is going to be a true test for me, I really hope I can survive this one. I failed miserably the last time I was out of my routine so I am hoping this time I will be able to prove to myself that I can do it. I am on an external course for the next 3 days with breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided. Eeeek! I am going into it with a plan though, here it is:
1. Bring my breakfast. (I will have yogurt and Fibre one in the mornings. I assume there will be fruit with breakfast so I will save that for a morning snack).
2. Eat salad for lunch and small portions of the semi-healthy options. (I actually have NO idea if they will even have salad or semi-healthy options. If nothing good is available I will make some excuse and so somewhere I can pick up something healthy!)
3. Have fruit and/or veggies for snack. (For the first day I will bring my own until I can see what sort of things they have available).
I think if I follow my plan and remember exactly why I am doing this I should be fine. I will stay strong and not give in to temptation!!
Wish me luck, will check in tomorrow and update. :)

Weekender
What a weekend!! I had such a great time with my boys, it was lovely to just hang out and not have to work! I had a wonderful few days and was 100% OP all weekend! WOOHOO!! I have been rocking it lately, I am pleased as punch! Let's hope tomorrow shows off my hard work on the scale.
There is certainly not very much exciting stuff in my 100 Days of Weight Loss book, in fact, I am finding each lesson less than memorable these days. I wonder if I would be better to do the lesson in the morning and then think about it during the day. I seem to find that doing right before bed doesn't do too much for me as I just forget about it in the night! Hmm, maybe I will give it a go although my mornings are pretty rushed already...
I did a TON of walking today and I am exhausted! James (my darling son) and I went to the zoo and then to a huge park in downtown Houston, We had a blast walking around everywhere and really enjoyed each other. I love weekends so much! Dan (my darling hubby) and I had a great time this weekend too, watching movies and just spending time together. That's really what it's all about for me these days, hanging out with my wonderful family in this place we now call home. :)
Anyway, I am looking forward to tomorrow and really hoping that I see a good loss on that scale!!

Health & Fitness.....
Hello my friendly followers! Here I am to check in and let you all know about my world of weight loss. To be honest, I am not thinking too much about that particular topic lately. I have been sick for the last few days and today got some blood test results that scared me a wee bit. All in all, everything is ok, however, my white blood cell count is boarderline low. I am not too sure what this means but all my doctor said was that it was likely to be caused by a virus that I am fighting. So, hopefully this is what is going on and why I am SO freaken tired and dizzy and nauseas, etc. It's pretty hard to deal with right now so I am just going to try and rest up and have my body kick some serious butt.
One thing that this has taught me is the importance of taking care of our bodies not only to maintain a healthy weight, but to be healthy in general! In consulting with Dr. Google (big mistake!) I learned a few things that actually interested me in how to get my white blood cell count on the up and up. Eat healthy and exercise. Who knew! I do both these days and am pretty darn happy about that. My veggie intake is awesome and I am really trying to be more active when possible. It has been hard for the last few days as I can hardly work let alone work out, but I know that as soon as things are back to normal I will be back on the work out train.
Through all this drama I am happy to report that I have been 100% OP and sticking to my plans. I have been resisting quite a bit of temptation and really hoping and believing I will have a good loss this week.
Anyway, I need to go spend some quality time with my hubby watching a little Jersey Shore! :)

Sicky
Oy. I have been one sick girl these past two days. I am dizzy, nauseous, very heavy headed and crazy tired. I am not sure what's wrong with me but it's very annoying. I am heading to the doctor today to try and get it sorted out. I have a feeling it may be related to my thyroid but I don't know for sure. I just hope whatever it is can be treated easily and have me back to feeling like myself again! It's soooo frusterating when you don't feel good, I hate it. Anyway, the diet is ok, the only problem is that I am probably not eating enough as I really don't feel like eating at all.
Hopefully will have some better news for y'all tomorrow.

Interested or Commited??
So this has been a stand out topic for me in my 100 days of weight loss book. Are you interested in dieting or commited to it? Big difference. Big. Huge. Anyway, I was certainly commited for the first few weeks of my journey here on this blog and then went out of town and subsequently fell into the interested category. Still had it in my mind but wasn't really willing to work hard and be totally commited to the plan.
So, I am officially back in the commited camp. No cheating, no 'just this one', no 'I will start again tomorrow'. 100% commitment, no other options.
I am looking forward to being commited again, I felt so great for those first few weeks and my success showed up on the scale. If I stay on track then results will come and I know that.
My first big commitment step is cancelling my lunch with the girls today. As much as it pains me to do it I just don't think I am strong enough yet to make the choices I need to make. They are all going to Luby's for Chicken Fried Steak. Yeah, I don't need that in any sort of way. I decided to skip out and eat outside with another friend who is on WW and we will eat our salads and bask in this beautiful spring day.
I have also started walking the trails at my work and have commited to doing it 3 times a week. It feels good to get out from behind my desk and get moving even if it is for such a short period of time. I will go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and then get at least one more big walk in on the weekends. I think this is a great start to showing my commitment to this plan and to reaching my goals.
Happy Tuesday! :)

Wagon jumping
That about sums up my trip to Colorado. I was off, I was on, and back off again. I certainly didn't go crazy but I certainly wasn't on my very best behavior. All in all I am totally ok with everything and I am getting right back on the wagon, as of now!!
I had an awesome trip, I think it was just what I needed for me. Not for my weight loss journey, but for me. To reconnect to that fun, energetic young woman I am, or was...The fact that it was a college town and I was with another girl my age and a 25 year old guy made it pretty fun, we were all a great match and got along wonderfully. We laughed and drank and just had a good time. I had fun and now it's back to real life. Not to say that my real life isn't wonderful, but I think that a little getaway to reconnect with yourself is a good thing. After the whirlwind trip it was good to be home to those who know and love me. I love my family so much and was so happy to come home to them both. I swear James grew up in the two days I was gone, he looks like such a big boy! He is a year and a half tomorrow and I can't believe it! We are going to the zoo to celebrate. :)
Anyway, back to the whole reason we are here. To lose weight and change my life. I am still extremely looking forward to everything this journey brings me and ready to start kicking some butt again. I have a pretty big feeling that I won't lose any weight this week, but if I can minimize the gain I will be very happy.I would be pleased as punch to stay the same this week but I think that's a long shot. We had pizza for dinner tonight. There, I said it. I wasn't going to becasue hey, no one in blog world would know, right? But I know the whole reason I am doing this is to be honest and deal with the things that I do wrong with this whole weight loss thing. So - here is one of them. I let what was an pretty bad few days turn into a total disaster with a meal of pizza to wrap it all up. Le sigh.
Ok, moving on. I am going to start a book tonight called '100 Days of Weight Loss'. I am looking forward to it and hope that it helps to keep me on track and gives me more tools and strength that I need to succeed.
I will be back tomorrow with a much better post about a 100% OP day at the zoo with my little man.

Feeling a bit off today
Tuesday bluesday? Seems to be it was a wee bit that way for me, nothing bad just feel like I didn't do my best today. I felt like it was a cheat day or something but I was 100% OP! I don't understand why my confidence and motivation isn't where it should be today. Yeah, it's been odd.
Let's start with my food diary and see if we can't go from there.
B: Yogurt and Fibre One (honestly, I have this every.single.weekday. I love it!)
S: Nothing
L: Lean Pocket and Large salad. This turned out to be a lot more points than I wanted due to me having a little loss of will power at the salad bar. Nothing bad, just put croutons and cheese on today which I never do. I counted it all and moved on.
S: Chocolate covered pretzels. I knew I shouldn't have bought them this weekend! DOH!
D: Baked catfish, brown rice, asparagus.
See, I was fine! I didn't splurge or anything (croutons and 1oz of shredded cheese on a salad don't count as splurging in my books!). I did, however, tempt myself with the whole day of the thought of a small Vegetarian Pizza ffrom Pizza Hut for dinner. I didn't do it but I wanted to oh so bad. It's soooo yummy and thick and cheesy and FATTY!!! Anyway, maybe I feel deprived today? I don't know but I need to snap out of it!
I am off to Denver tomorrow so it will be a wee test of wills while I am there. I am only going for an overnight and will be back late Thursday night. I will be very busy but hopefully not too busy to pay attention to my blog and my tracking! Wish me luck on my first out of town test. :)

Things are shaping up (me included!)
Well after a less than perfect weekend I had quite a lovely Monday. My darling husband came home from work last night and proceeded to tell me how terribly sorry he was for his behavior this weekend. My immediate reaction was to imitate the finest butter and I melted promptly into his arms. I had a little cry and we have officially decided to never argue again. Why do I have this funny feeling that this is akin to the 'I am never drinking again' prophecy??
Anywoo, onto bigger (or smaller!) and better things. ME! Yes, I was down 2 marvelous pounds at weigh in today. Holla! I was pretty excited about that and thinking that my hard work this week paid off. I resisted a lot of tempation and I am pleased as punch that it has paid off for me today on the scale.
Tonight will be low key as my life consists only of such dull mundane evenings lately. I am, however, working up a fairly decent sweat tonight. No, not from exercising or other fun things that married women do to get a little sweaty, le sigh. I am simply in my living room, on the couch, dying of heat. It's February 21st in our lovely town of Sugar Land, Texas and is approx. 25 degrees celcius outside right now. Our house is a balmy 81 F with about 100% humidity which, although wonderous for the skin, makes relaxing a wee bit uncomfortable. The Canadian in me absolutley refuses to turn on the A/C for some fundamental reason. It's February for goodness sakes!
Anyway, I am thinking of starting to post my food journals each night with my blog posts. What do you think? Interested, not at all? Spill it! (Ok, so really I just want to see my first comment to reassure myself that I am not doing this thing totally in vain and that at least one lovely reader enjoys my daily ramblings...)
B - Yogurt and Fibre 1. (I found and AWESOME yogurt at Kroeger that's called CarbMaster and is only 2 points! It's quite a big container and sooo creamy. I am in love for sure. Today's flavour was Strawberry Daquiri. Yeah!)
S - Banana
L - Leftover pork stirfry followed promptly by a package of 100 calorie fudge dipped pretzels. Yeah, they taste as good as they sound.
S - Carrots and onion dip made with ff sour cream and onion soup mix. Seriously addicted to this stuff.
D - Homemade burger on sandwich thin with cheese, cucumber slices with ff ranch dressing as dip.
Well, here's to another week on track!

Up's and Down's
That pretty much sums up my weekend. Yep, it was chalk full of up's and down's. I won't go on and on about it, but my husband and I fought pretty much the entire time which really sucks considering he works every night this week until 10pm so I won't see him till next weekend. Oy. My darling son also gave me a little run for my money for the title of HBIC (that's Head Bitch In Charge, for all you non-Flava Flav and New York fans...). Today, well, tonight in fact, he started to hit me and not listen to ANYTHING the HBIC (me) was saying. This is quite a drastic change from my little angel boy who wouldn't dream of being saucy. I blame it on daycare, of course, I pretty much blame most of his bad habits on daycare. Ignorance is bliss, no? To be fair, we did have an awesome day together going for a big walk with Jack the Puggle and over to the park for a big play. He was quite a happy boy and I managed to take a few good shots of him playing which made me happy.
Anywhoooo, in the wake of this mass family destruction I managed to kick some serious butt and stuck 100% to my points for the whole weekend. No eating after dinner any night this week!! WHAT?! YES! I am SO proud of that fact, it's a huge step for me and I am going to try really hard to make it a habit. I made a wonderful pork stir-fry for dinner tonight and am just a little worried that the sodium in all the soy sauce will affect my weigh in tomorrow. Let's hope not.
So, instead of stuffing my face with some chips, popcorn, ice cream and cereal tonight, I will sit here and reflect on my weekend of up's and down's with my dog and my water bottle. That and a few recorded episodes of 'I Used to be Fat' for good measure. ;)

My Very Last First Post
Well, here I am, a blogger again. I tried my hand at this a few years ago and it worked out quite nicely. I enjoyed having a place to divulge my feelings on my weight loss journey and I found it kept me on track and focused on the task at hand. I haven't decided what I want the scope of the blog to be yet, should it be personal or strictly buisiness? Should I share pics or remain as anonymous as possible in the land of the internet? I don't know yet, but I will figure it out soon enough.
My weight loss story is a long one, stemming back a few years. I am not quite ready to tell my story yet, but I am sure a few entries and positive results on the scale will have me bearing my soul to everyone and no one all at the same time.
That's it for now, very cryptic and mysterious right? Well, just until I figure out what exactly I want, which, if you know me, should only take me about 10 years to decide. HA!
